Mrs. Carly Bensler
My name is Carly Bensler and I have been teaching for 15 years. I am so blessed to have spent the last 7 of those years as part of the Notre Dame family.
I was born in England and moved to Canada in Grade 6. I graduated from MHHS and then received my degree from the University of Alberta in 2010. I started my career in lower elementary, spending a few years teaching Grade 1, Kindergarten, and even ELP. While I have enjoyed every grade I have taught, Junior High is my absolute favourite. Currently, I teach Grade 8 Math and Grade 9 Science. It is so much fun teaching STEM, particularly Biology. If you stop by my classroom you can meet my tarantula, Steve, who helps me out with the Biodiversity unit.
I also coach girls’ volleyball with my wonderful co-coach, Miss Larochelle.
My husband Nathan and I have a blended family of 6 with our children Theron, TJ, Lincoln and Mahayla. We spend a lot of our time watching them participate and excel in their sports which brings us so much joy. On the (rare) occasions that we are not busy with that, I enjoy reading, CrossFit, cycling and spending time with my friends.
I truly love our school and feel so thankful to be part of the staff here!
